Newell Rubbermaid to buy Jarden for $13.2bn to create household goods giant

  • Combined company expects $16bn revenue per year
  • Rubbermaid CEO Michael Polk to be CEO of combined Newell Brands

Newell Rubbermaid is buying Jarden Corp in a cash-and-stock deal worth about $13.2bn that combines some of the most famous names in household goods.

The combined company will generate a mammoth $16bn in revenue per year with brands such as Paper Mate, Sharpie, Elmer’s, Rubbermaid, Calphalon, Lenox, Yankee Candle and Graco.
