CCL inherits tricky task of ridding polymer notes of animal fat after spending £680m on Innovia
The company behind controversial £5 notes found to contain animal fat has been sold in a deal worth C$1.13bn (£680m).
Canadian labelling and packaging firm CCL will buy UK-based Innovia, which supplies the Bank of England with the plastic notes. The £5 note triggered outrage among vegetarians and vegans after the Bank admitted they contain tallow.
