General Mills Misses Q2 Estimates, Organic Sales Down 4%; Lowers Sales Target

General Mills (GIS) reported that adjusted EPS totaled $0.85 in the second quarter, up 4 percent from the prior year. Constant-currency adjusted EPS increased 5 percent. On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.86, for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Total segment operating profit was $830 million, down 1 percent. Total segment operating profit essentially matched year-ago results in constant currency.
