Industrial conglomerate General Electric Co. reported Tuesday a net loss for the fourth quarter compared to a profit last year, hurt by steep debt extinguishment costs and lower revenues. However, adjusted earnings per share topped analysts' expectations, while quarterly revenues missed them.
