Colgate-Palmolive Company (CL) reported that, excluding charges, net income in third quarter 2016 was $653 million, even with third quarter 2015, and earnings per share was $0.73, an increase of 1% from third quarter 2015. Excluding charges, and excluding Venezuela's operating results in both periods, third-quarter earnings per share increased double digit on a currency-neutral basis. On average, 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.73 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
