DTE Energy (DTE) Wednesday reported an increase in first quarter net earnings to $400 million or $2.23 per share from $247 million or $1.37 per share a year ago. Operating earnings that exclude non-recurring items, mark to market adjustments and discontinued operations was $322 million or $1.79 per share.
