Dutch consumer electronics giant Philips Electronics NV reported a decline in its first-quarter net profit despite margin growth, amid tax and other charges related mainly to the separation of the Philips Lighting business. Sales, however, rose with the help of improved results from HealthTech portfolio and LED lighting. The company also backed its fiscal 2016 forecast of improved earnings.
