888 and Rank Group consider £3bn William Hill joint bid

Gaming groups form consortium for potential takeover of rival, but say no formal approach has been made

Gaming groups 888 and Rank Group are considering a £3bn joint bid for struggling rival William Hill.

The pair issued a statement saying they had formed a consortium for a potential transaction for William Hill, which last week ousted its chief executive James Henderson after its failure to capitalise on the growing online betting market.
