Meritage Homes Corp. (MTH) Thursday announced second quarter net earnings of $39.9 million or $0.95 per share compared to prior year net earnings of $29.1 million or $0.70 per share last year. The company said the results primarily reflects higher home closing revenues and greater overhead operating leverage.
